My brother-in-law and his wife are from the southern United States. They have always wanted to visit Canada and take a tour of Niagara Falls. They are wine aficionados and found out that a Toronto limo rental service has a wine tour of the Falls area. That was right up their alley. They invited us to join them, but we are teatotalers, and would just be a third wheel for that trip.
They said it was really cool to see Niagara from the Canadian side. They stopped and spent some time seeing it from the United States side, and they said the view of the horseshoe shape is better seen from the Canadian side of the border. There are different grape growers and winemakers in the region around the lake, and they got to visit one they really like one wine from.
I know there are wine and cheese tours, and I would be all in for a cheese tour. Not interested in the wine though. Read more
As a Toronto limousine driver I have personally felt the presence of Uber and Lyft in market. So much so that I actually began to drive part time for both of the companies to make up for the loss of business that the limousine company I work for was experiencing. Not wanting to completely betray the company, I actually enjoy driving a limousine as much as I do a car, I decided that I wanted to take a closer look at the industries and hopefully attempt to figure out what made those two ride sharing services so popular among users.
On the surface it would appear that the presence of the mobile application to be the most effective way to enter into the market. Read more
Many make the journey to Arizona solely for its whopping 277-mile-long chasm, the Grand Canyon, and we don’t blame them. This mile-deep formation carved by the Colorado River is one of the most spectacular things a person can see, but to neglect the rest of the state would be a monumental mistake.
Arizona has always been a place for rebels and risk takers. One hundred years ago cowboys crossed the deserts in search of fortune, and they settled things with shootouts and saloon sessions. Nowadays, the West isn’t quite as wild, but Arizonans still get their kicks through adventure, whether it’s cycling the rim of the Grand Canyon, launching themselves from treetop canopies or surfing waves on its lakes.
Experience the rush of wakesurfing
At Lake Pleasant, just north of Phoenix, there are stacks of activities to be tried, from hiking and scuba-diving to kayaking and nature spotting (bald eagles have been seen here in recent weeks). Meanwhile, speedboats in the area go zipping along the water dragging doughnuts and wakeboards behind them, but it’s wakesurfing that’s really taken off here. A wakesurfer rides behind a speedboat, using
The third biggest country on earth, the USA packs spectacular biodiversity within its borders. Between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, you’ll encounter hot desert playas and plateaus, skyscraping mountain ranges topped by glaciers, rolling grasslands where millions of bison once roamed, tropical rain forests, active volcanic zones and polar tundra.
The USA lives up to its promise of purple mountain majesties and beautiful, spacious skies, most of all in its prized national parks. Many of the country’s most magnificent natural wonders are protected today by the National Park Service (NPS), which will celebrate its centennial in 2016. These specially protected places also provide safe haven for an astonishing array of wildlife, ranging from tiny eyeless fish living in the dark haunts of Mammoth Cave to the giant grizzly bears of wild Denali National Park. If you want to have your mind blown, visit these top 10 natural wonders, scattered from coast to coast and beyond.
Yosemite National Park
Famous conservationist and wilderness writer John Muir called Yosemite nature’s temple. Gazing up at towering granite monoliths such as El Capitan and at Yosemite Falls, North America’s highest waterfall,
These 10 classic treks are for serious walkers. All of them require a sturdy pair of lungs, fit legs and a good amount of preparation. However, if you choose to go on any of these trails then you will be rewarded with experiences that last a lifetime. In no particular order:
1. GR20, France
This demanding 15- day (168km, 104mi) slog through Corsica is legendary for the diversity of landscapes it traverses. There are forests, granite moonscapes, windswept craters, glacial lakes, torrents, peat bogs, maquis, snow-capped peaks, plains and névés (stretches of ice formed from snow). But it doesn’t come easy: the path is rocky and sometimes steep, and includes rickety bridges and slippery rock faces – all part of the fun. Created in 1972, the GR20 links Calenzana, in the Balagne, with Conca, north of Porto Vecchio.
2. Inca Trail, Peru
This 33km (20mi) ancient trail was laid by the Incas and is currently traversed by thousands each year. The trail leads from the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu winding its way up and down and around the mountains, taking three high passes en route.
